Access All Areas make disruptive theatre and performance by learning disabled and autistic artists.
Their interactive performance events create intimate moments of interaction between performers and public, occupying unexpected spaces in venues, on the streets, and in public buildings.
For Spaces of Joy we were joined by Associate Artist and Trainee Director Emma Selwyn, Senior Producer Matt Maltby, Access Officer Katie Wheeler and Creative Support Heather Johnson.
Their session gave an introduction to autism and learning disability awareness, alongside explaining their practise. There was particular focus to creative support workers, who fulfil a combined role of access support and creative partnership.
